Luis Armando Higuera-Llamas, Defendant. No. CR07-00045-PHX-JAT ORDER (First Request) 16 cause appearing, to wit: additional time needed for investigation and trial preparation. IT IS HEREBY ORDERED granting Defendant's Motion to Continue trial and 18 Motion to Extend Deadline for Filing Pretrial Motions. This court specifically finds that the 19 ends of justice served by taking this action outweigh the best interest of the public and the 20 21 22 23 24 25 27 defendant in a speedy trial. This finding is based on the court's conclusion that the failure to grant such a continuance would unreasonably deny the attorney for defendant the reasonable time necessary for effective preparation, taking into account the exercise of due diligence. 18 U.S.C. § 3161(h)(8)(B)(iv). IT IS ORDERED continuing trial from March 6, 2007 to Tuesday, April 3, 2007 26 at 9:00 a.m. in Phoenix, Arizona. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED extending the current pretrial motions to and including 28 February 27, 2007.
