Petitioner Horacio Figueroa-Medina (39437-008), who is confined in the Central Arizona Detention Center in Florence, Arizona, has filed a pro se Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2241. The Court will transfer this action to the Phoenix Division. The United States District Court for the District of Arizona covers the entire State of Arizona. 28 U.S.C. § 81. The District, however, has been divided into three divisions: the Phoenix Division, the Prescott Division, and the Tucson Division. LRCiv 77.1(a). The Division to which any particular case is assigned is governed by Rule 77.1(c) of the Local Rules of Civil Procedure, which provides in relevant part that: Unless otherwise ordered by the Court, all civil and criminal cases founded on causes of action (1) arising in the Phoenix Division shall be tried in Phoenix, (2) arising in the Prescott Division shall be tried in Prescott, and (3) arising in the Tucson [D]ivision shall be tried in Tucson. The allegations in this Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus relate to Petitioner's confinement in the Central Arizona Detention Center, where Petitioner's custodian is located.

The cause of action in this matter therefore arose in Pinal County where the Central Arizona Detention Center is located. Because Pinal County lies within the Phoenix Division, see LRCiv 77.1(a), the Court will transfer this action to the Phoenix Division. IT IS ORDERED that the Clerk of Court must transfer this case to the Phoenix Division of the Court forthwith. DATED this 14th day of June, 2007.
