JOINT STATEMENT REGARDING
DEFENDANTS’ INTENT TO FILE A
PETITION FOR WRIT OF
CERTIORARI

Pursuant to this Court’s April 1, 2011 Order, the parties submit this joint statement

2

to advise the Court that the State of Arizona and Governor Janice K. Brewer intend to file

3

a petition for a writ of certiorari in the United States Supreme Court to ask the Supreme

4

Court to review the Ninth Circuit’s April 11, 2011 decision. The parties also respectfully

5

request that, for the reasons stated at the April 1, 2011 status conference, the Court

6

continue the current stay of the United States’ claims until the Supreme Court either

7

denies the petition for certiorari or, if the Supreme Court accepts certiorari, issues its final

8

decision.
