FINAL JUDGMENT AND PERMANENT INJUNCTION by Judge John F. Walter. Judgment is entered for Plaintiffs DISH Network LLC., EchoStar Technologies LLC., and NagraStar LLC on their claims alleging violations of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 USC 1 201(a)(1), Federal Communications Act, 47 USC 605(a), and the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, 18 USC sub-section 2511(1)(a) and 2520. Defendant Hector Meza Castillo shall pay damages in the amount of $10,000 to DISH Network. The damages a warded to DISH Network are non-dischargeable pursuant to 11 USC 523(a)(6). Defendant, and any person acting in active concert or participation with Defendant that receives actual notice of this order, is hereby permanently enjoined. HECTOR CASTILLO, 15 Defendant. 16 17 Having considered the parties’ Stipulation for Entry of Final Judgment and 18 Permanent Injunction, and good cause appearing, the Court approves the stipulation 19 and ORDERS as follows: 20 1. Judgment is entered for Plaintiffs DISH Network L.L.C., EchoStar 21 Technologies L.L.C., and NagraStar LLC (collectively, “DISH Network”) on their 22 claims alleging violations of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 23 1201(a)(1), Federal Communications Act, 47 U.S.C. § 605(a), and the Electronic 24 Communications Privacy Act, 18 U.S.C. §§ 2511(1)(a) and 2520. 25 2. Defendant Hector Meza Castillo (“Defendant”) shall pay damages in 26 the amount of $10,000 to DISH Network. The damages awarded to DISH Network 27 are non-dischargeable pursuant to 11 U.S.C. § 523(a)(6). 28 1 1 3. Defendant, and any person acting in active concert or participation 2 with Defendant that receives actual notice of this order, is hereby permanently 3 enjoined from: 4 A. circumventing or assisting others to circumvent DISH 5 Network’s security system, or otherwise intercepting or assisting others to intercept 6 DISH Network’s satellite signal; 7 B. testing, analyzing, reverse engineering, manipulating, or 8 extracting codes, data, or information from DISH Network’s satellite receivers, 9 smart cards, satellite data stream, or any other part or component of the DISH 10 Network security system. 11 4. This permanent injunction takes effect immediately. 12 5. Each party is to bear its own attorney’s fees and costs. 13 6. The Court retains jurisdiction over this action for a period of two years 14 15 for the purpose of enforcing this final judgment and permanent injunction. 7. Defendant, by entering the Stipulation for Entry of Final Judgment and 16 Permanent Injunction, does not admit to any wrongdoing or any facts alleged which 17 would give rise to any criminal liability. 18 PURSUANT TO STIPULATION, IT IS SO ORDERED. 19 20 Dated: February 9, 2015 21 22 Hon.
