Currently set for 19 hearing on December 15, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. is the County of Madera's motion for temporary 20 restraining order and the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians ("the Tribe")'s motion to 21 transfer. The County now moves to remand this case under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 22 1447 and requests an order shortening time so that its remand motion is heard prior to or 23 contemporaneously with the motions for transfer and temporary restraining order. The Court had 24 previously granted the Tribe's motion to shorten time and set a briefing schedule on the motion 25 to transfer.
