Jones ("Plaintiff") is a civil detainee in the custody of the California Defendants. / UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT 11 DEE SHAFER, et al., 15 Department of Mental Health. Plaintiff is civilly detained pursuant to California's Sexually 16 Violent Predators Act ("SVPA"). Cal. Welf. & Inst. Code § 6600. On February 10, 2010, the 17 Court granted a stay of the proceeding pending completion of Plaintiff's SVPA state civil 18 commitment proceedings. (ECF No. 11.) Because Plaintiff is the only party to appear in this 19 action, the Court will require Plaintiff to update the Court as to the status of his SVPA 20 proceedings. Accordingly, it is HEREBY ORDERED that Plaintiff is to file a status update 21 regarding his state civil commitment proceedings within thirty (30) days from the date of service 22 of this order.
