CV F 09-1247 LJO DLB 12 Plaintiff, ORDER ON BRIEFING PAGE LIMITS (Doc. 132.) 13 vs. 14 15 AMERICAN DAIRY AND FOOD CONSULTING LABORATORIES INC., 16 Defendant. 17 / 18 AND RELATER COUNTERACTION. 19 ___________________________________/ 20 21 Defendant Delano Farms Company seeks leave to exceed this Court’s page limits for its reply 22 brief. This Court treats briefs in excess of page limits as a necessity, not a luxury to be taken lightly. 23 This Court reluctantly PERMITS Delano to file a reply brief not to exceed 15 pages on the condition that 24 such brief is well-organized, clear and succinct and avoids unnecessary duplication and otherwise 25 complies with this Court’s Local Rules. All other briefing shall conform to the Standing Order page 26 limitations of this Court, unless this Court orders otherwise. 27 28 In addition, this Court ORDERS the parties to provide courtesy copies of their papers to chambers. 1 1 Due to bearing the heaviest caseload in the nation with the recent retirement of former U.S. 2 District Judge Oliver Wanger, limited resources, and the need to prioritize criminal and older civil 3 matters over more recently filed actions, this Court ADMONISHES the parties that it is unable to 4 commit to address this action to meet the parties’ needs and expectations. As such, this Court urges the 5 parties to consider the conduct of all further proceedings by a U.S. Magistrate Judge, whose caseload 6 and availability is more accommodating to the parties. Forms to consent to a U.S. Magistrate Judge are 7 available on this Court’s website. 8 9 IT IS SO ORDERED. Dated: 66h44d February 10, 2012 /s/ Lawrence J.
