(ECF NO. 81) DANNY HERRERA and RICKY BRANNUM, Defendants. 10 11 12 Leonard Ransom, Jr. (“Plaintiff”) is a state prisoner proceeding pro se in this civil rights 13 action filed pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983. On November 6, 2017, Plaintiff filed a “request for 14 court order, directly to High Desert State Prison Warden M.E. Spearman, to provide phonecall 15 [sic], on November 20, 2017, at 3:00 p.m., so Plaintiff can participate in the initial scheduling 16 conference….” (ECF No. 81). 17 Because Plaintiff’s attendance at the initial scheduling conference is mandatory, and 18 because the conference cannot go forward without Plaintiff, the Court will grant Plaintiff’s 19 request in part. 20 Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED that Plaintiff’s institution make him available for the 21 above mentioned telephonic court appearance. Moreover, defense counsel shall confirm with 22 Plaintiff’s institution of confinement that arrangements have been made for Plaintiff to 23 telephonically appear at the conference. 24 25 26 IT IS SO ORDERED.
