Plaintiff Ivan Lee Matthews (“Plaintiff”) is a state prisoner proceeding pro se and in forma
16
pauperis in this civil rights action pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983. This action currently proceeds
17
on Plaintiff’s fourth amended complaint against Defendants Liles, Sherrett, and Cable
18
(“Defendants”) on the claim for retaliation in violation of the First Amendment arising from the
19
alleged denial of Plaintiff’s legal papers.
20
On September 25, 2017, the Court granted in part and denied in part Defendants’ motion
21
to dismiss. (ECF No. 51.) Accordingly, Defendants shall file an answer or other responsive
22
pleading to Plaintiff’s fourth amended complaint within twenty-one (21) days from the date of
23
service of this order.
