(ECF. Nos. 6, 7) LELAND ROSS DICK, et al, Defendants. 17 18 Plaintiffs Phillip Bonnette and Linda Faye Grant-Jones are proceeding pro se and have 19 requested leave to proceed in forma pauperis pursuant to Title 28 of the United States Code section 20 1915(a). (ECF Nos. 6, 7). Plaintiffs have made the showing required by section 1915(a), and 21 accordingly, the request to proceed in forma pauperis will be granted. 28 U.S.C. § 1915(a). 22 Plaintiffs are advised that the Court screens the complaints of pro se litigants proceeding in 23 forma pauperis pursuant to Title 28 of the United States Code section 1915(e)(2). The Court must 24 dismiss a complaint if the litigant has raised claims that are legally “frivolous or malicious,” that 25 fail to state a claim upon which relief may be granted, or that seek monetary relief from a 26 defendant(s) who is immune from such relief. 28 U.S.C. § 1915(e)(2)(B). As a result, summonses 27 will not issue at this time. The Court will direct the United States Marshal to serve Plaintiffs’ 28 complaint only after the Court has screened the complaint and determined that it contains 1 1 cognizable claims for relief against the named defendants. The Court has a large number of such 2 cases pending before it and will screen Plaintiffs’ complaint in due course. 3 4 5 6 IT IS SO ORDERED. Dated: /s/ Barbara June 12, 2018 A.
