ORDER

16
Plaintiff is a state prisoner, proceeding without counsel, with an action brought
17
pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983. On December 19, 2011, plaintiff filed a letter with the court
18
requesting injunctive relief. Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 7(b)(1) provides that requests for
19
court orders must be made by motion. In other words, plaintiff may not seek injunctive relief by
20
way of a letter addressed to the court.
21
Accordingly, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that plaintiff’s letter requesting
22
injunctive relief (Dkt. No. 13) is disregarded.
