1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT 9 FOR THE EASTERN DISTRICT OF CALIFORNIA 10 11 KRISTIANE SMITH, 12 13 14 No. 2:14-cv-1650 TLN CKD PS Plaintiff, v. ORDER NCO FINANCIAL SYSTEMS, INC., 15 Defendant. 16 17 Plaintiff has moved the court for reference to a settlement conference. Plaintiff asserts 18 that defendant has not been responsive to her attempts to engage in meaningful settlement 19 negotiations. The court previously advised the parties in the status (pretrial scheduling) order 20 filed January 15, 2015 that if the parties determine a settlement conference would be beneficial, the 21 courtroom deputy may be contacted to arrange a date for the settlement conference. No motion is 22 necessary to make such a request. In the absence of a joint request of the parties for a settlement 23 conference, the court declines at this time to set a date for settlement conference. 24 Accordingly, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that plaintiff’s motion (ECF No. 25) is denied 25 without prejudice. 26 Dated: May 4, 2015 27 28 4 smith-nco.sett _____________________________________ CAROLYN K.
