No. 2:16-cv-0542 DAD AC P
v.
ORDER
SCOTT KERNAN, et al.,
15
Defendants.
16
By order filed July 31, 2023, the parties’ motions for summary judgment were denied
17
18
(ECF No. 246) and this case is now ready to proceed to trial. However, the court has determined
19
that this case would benefit from a settlement conference. Under Local Rule 270(b), because the
20
undersigned is not the trial judge, the undersigned may conduct the settlement conference,
21
“except that, at the time the settlement conference is scheduled or as otherwise ordered by the
22
Court, any party may request that the conference not be conducted by the assigned Magistrate
23
Judge.” The parties will therefore be given an opportunity to request that another magistrate
24
judge conduct the settlement conference.
Accordingly, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that within fourteen days of the service of this
25
26
order, any party may request that the settlement conference be conducted by a magistrate judge

other than the undersigned. If no party requests a different magistrate judge, a settlement
