ORDER REFERRING CASE TO VDRP AND STAYING PROCEEDINGS DRD Hospitality, Inc., et al., 15 Defendants. 16 The court has determined that this case is appropriate for an early settlement conference 17 18 and will refer the action to the court’s Voluntary Dispute Resolution Program (“VDRP”). 19 IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that: 20 1. Within fourteen (14) days of this Order, the parties shall contact the court’s VDRP 21 administrator, Sujean Park, at (916) 930-4278 or SPark@caed.uscourts.gov, to start the process of 22 selecting an appropriate neutral. The parties shall carefully review and comply with Local Rule 23 271, which outlines the specifications and requirements of the VDRP. 24 2. To avoid the unnecessary expenditure of costs and attorneys’ fees, this action is hereby 25 stayed to provide the parties time to complete the VDRP session. No later than five (5) days after 26 completion of the VDRP session, the parties shall file a joint statement indicating whether a 27 settlement was reached. 28 //// 1 1 3. The parties shall complete the VDRP session no later than August 9, 2017. The court 2 hereby resets the Status (Pretrial Scheduling) Conference for September 13, 2017. If a settlement 3 is not reached through VDRP, the parties shall submit an Amended Joint Status Report no later 4 than August 30, 2017. 5 6 IT IS SO ORDERED.
