1 IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT 2 FOR THE NORTHERN DISTRICT OF CALIFORNIA 3 4 5 MARCIANO PLATA, et al., 6 Plaintiffs, NO. C01-1351 TEH 7 v. 8 EDMUND G. BROWN JR., et al., 9 Defendants. ORDER TO DEPOSIT FUNDS 11 For the Northern District of California United States District Court 10 On September 5, 2012, the Court entered an order providing additional responsibilities 12 for the court experts in this case. The order further provided that the experts’ fees and 13 expenses shall be paid through the Court’s registry by Defendants, who shall promptly 14 deposit additional funds when ordered to do so. 15 The Finance Office has informed the Court that approximately $30,000 remains on 16 deposit in this case. This is insufficient to cover the experts’ anticipated fees and expenses. 17 Accordingly, with good cause appearing, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that, within 18 forty-five days of the date of this order, Defendants shall deposit an additional $250,000 with 19 the Clerk of the Court for deposit into the registry for this action. To ensure prompt payment 20 to the experts, the Court will issue additional orders to deposit funds whenever the balance 21 falls below $100,000. Defendants may, at their option, choose to deposit more than 22 $250,000 if they wish to avoid more frequent deposits. 23 24 IT IS SO ORDERED. 25 26 Dated: 11/05/12 27 28 THELTON E. HENDERSON, JUDGE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT
