ASTRUE, Defendant. / STATEMENT OF THE CASE Plaintiff Kimberly Freeman was a Service Representative employed by the Social Security Administration through the Federal Careers Intern Program. She brings an action under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, 42 U.S.C. §2000e-16, alleging that her race was a factor in her termination by the Social Security Administration. She was hired on September 15, 2003 through the Federal Careers Intern Program. Ms. Freeman was discharged from the Federal Careers Intern Program, effective July 26, 2004. The Social Security Administration claims that Ms. Freeman was terminated for legitimate, non-discriminatory reasons, including excessive socializing, not following instructions from her supervisors, and her inability to remain focused and productive while at work. Ms. Freeman's supervisors claim that they repeatedly warned her about these issues. Plaintiff Freeman complained that she was treated differently from comparable employees, based on her race.
