1 2 3 IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT 4 FOR THE NORTHERN DISTRICT OF CALIFORNIA 5 6 7 United States District Court For the Northern District of California 10 11 ORDER GRANTING CONTINUANCE IN ADMINISTRATIVE MOTION TO SEAL Plaintiff, 8 9 No. C 12-00059 SI BLUESTONE INNOVATIONS LLC, v. NICHIA CORP.; NICHIA AMERICA CORP., Defendant. / 12 On March 25, 2013, the Court found that the parties’ stipulated administrative motion to file 13 documents under seal failed to make the requisite showing that the documents at issue are sealable. The 14 Court ordered that the parties must make a sufficient showing by April 1, 2013, or the documents would 15 be made part of the public record. Some of the documents were designated “Confidential” by third 16 parties, including Thomas Licensing, LLC. On March 27, 2013, Thomas wrote a letter to the Court 17 requesting additional time to prepare a declaration on the confidentiality of its documents. Thomas 18 claims that it was only informed of the filing of its confidential materials on March 26, 2013, and 19 therefore it needs more time. 20 Accordingly, the Court allows the parties until no later than April 8, 2013 to make the requisite 21 showing that the documents at issue are sealable. 22 23 IT IS SO ORDERED. 24 25 Dated: April 1, 2013 26 27 28 SUSAN ILLSTON United States District Judge
