Defendants filed a motion to dismiss this action on April 15, 2013. Plaintiff has not
18 responded. Civil Local Rule 7-3(a) requires parties to file and serve an opposition within
19 fourteen days after a motion is filed. A party who does not oppose a motion must file a
20 statement of nonopposition with the court within fourteen days. Civ. L. Rule 7-3(b).
21 “Failure to follow a district court’s local rules is a proper ground for dismissal.” Ghazali v.
22 Moran, 46 F.3d 52, 53 (9th Cir. 1995). Accordingly, by May 10, 2013 at 5:00 p.m.,
23 plaintiff must show cause in writing why this action should not be dismissed.
