Dkt. Nos. 9-10. Defendant also filed a proof of service 20 indicating that the administrative transcript was served by first class mail on pro se plaintiff 21 Behzad Amini on August 6, 2013. Dkt. No. 11. The Local Rules and the Procedural Order 22 for Social Security Review issued in this case provide that plaintiff must serve and file a 23 motion for summary judgment or remand within 28 days of receipt of defendant’s answer. 24 Dkt. No. 2; Civ. L.R. 16-5. Plaintiff has not filed a motion for summary judgment or for 25 remand. “Failure to follow a district court’s local rules is a proper ground for dismissal.” 26 Ghazali v. Moran, 46 F.3d 52, 53 (9th Cir. 1995). Accordingly, plaintiff has until February 27 14, 2014, to file a motion in compliance with Civil Local Rule 16-5 and to show cause in 28 writing why this action should not be dismissed.
