1 UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT 2 NORTHERN DISTRICT OF CALIFORNIA 3 4 JOHN ROE, et al., Plaintiffs, 5 6 7 8 v. BERKELEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT, Case No. 15-cv-03871-TEH ORDER RE: FILING DOCUMENTS UNDER SEAL Defendant. 9 10 This Court previously granted Plaintiffs’ request to proceed pseudonymously but United States District Court Northern District of California 11 denied their request to file all documents under seal. Docket numbers 3-12 were sealed by 12 the general duty judge, subject to revisiting by this Court. Docket numbers 19-21 and 23 13 were locked by this Court from public view, but not sealed, after the parties publicly filed 14 documents containing the names of the minor child and his parents. 15 At the September 1, 2015 hearing, Plaintiffs’ counsel acknowledged that redacting 16 identifying information of the student and parents would be sufficient to protect their 17 privacy concerns, and that the documents need not be sealed in their entirety. 18 Accordingly, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the parties shall electronically file redacted 19 versions of docket numbers 3-12, 19-21, and 23 on or before September 11, 2015. The 20 already filed unredacted versions of these documents shall be maintained under seal. 21 22 IT IS SO ORDERED. 23 24 25 26 27 28 Dated: 09/02/15 _____________________________________ THELTON E. HENDERSON United States District Judge
