1 2 3 4 UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT 5 NORTHERN DISTRICT OF CALIFORNIA 6 7 MARCUS HURT, et al., Case No. 15-cv-05223-JCS Plaintiffs, 8 v. 9 10 DAVID ADAMS, et al., Defendants. ORDER SEALING COMPLAINT AND REQUIRING PLAINTIFFS TO FILE REDACTED COMPLAINT Re: Dkt. No. 1 United States District Court Northern District of California 11 12 Rule 5.2(a) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure requires redaction of the name of an 13 individual known to be a minor. Documents filed with the Court are available to the public and 14 may include only the initials of a minor child. See Fed. R. Civ. P. 5.2(a)(3). 15 Plaintiffs’ Complaint largely complies with this rule, but paragraph 16 appears to 16 inadvertently include two instances of the first name of a minor. Because the Complaint includes 17 information protected by Rule 5.2, it is hereby SEALED. Plaintiffs are ORDERED to file a 18 version of the Complaint redacting all instances of the names of minor children no later than April 19 6, 2016 in order to complete the public record in this action. Initials of minor children may be left 20 unredacted. 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 IT IS SO ORDERED. Dated: March 23, 2016 ______________________________________ JOSEPH C. SPERO Chief Magistrate Judge
