1 2 3 4 5 IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT 6 FOR THE NORTHERN DISTRICT OF CALIFORNIA 7 8 9 11 For the Northern District of California United States District Court 10 AVIATION WEST CHARTERS, LLC, and ERIN GAAL Plaintiffs, 12 13 14 v. CONNECTICUT GENERAL LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY, ORDER DENYING PRO HAC VICE APPLICATIONS Defendant. / 15 16 No. C 16-00035WHA The pro hac vice applications of Attorney Nathan A. Shev (Dkt. No. 16) and Attorney 17 Eamon P. Kelley (Dkt. No. 17) are DENIED for failing to comply with Local Rule 11-3. The 18 local rule requires that an applicant certify that “he or she is an active member in good standing 19 of the bar of a United States Court or of the highest court of another State or the District of 20 Columbia, specifying such bar” (emphasis added). Filling out the pro hac vice form from the 21 district court website such that it only identifies the state of bar membership — such as “the bar 22 of Illinois” — is inadequate under the local rule because it fails to identify a specific court. 23 While the application fee does not need to be paid again, the application cannot be processed 24 until a corrected form is submitted. 25 26 IT IS SO ORDERED. 27 28 Dated: April 22, 2016. WILLIAM ALSUP UNITED STATES DISTRICT JUDGE
