1 2 UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT 3 NORTHERN DISTRICT OF CALIFORNIA 4 5 THEODORE LEE SHELTON EAVES, Plaintiff, 6 7 8 9 Case No. 17-cv-03976-SI ORDER RE: COMPLAINT v. NANCY A. BERRYHILL, Defendant. On July 14, 2017, plaintiff filed a complaint entitled “Complaint for Judicial Review of 11 United States District Court Northern District of California 10 Decision of Commissioner of Social Security,” and an application to proceed in forma pauperis. 12 Dkt. Nos. 1, 3. However, the complaint does not appear to state a claim. The Court cannot tell 13 whether there was a decision by the Commissioner against the plaintiff on a specific issue. It also 14 appears that there may be two people—Theodore Lee and Shelton Eaves—trying to bring a claim. 15 The Court ORDERS plaintiff to file a new complaint by August 8, 2017. The new 16 complaint should say whether the Commissioner of Social Security made a decision against 17 him on a certain issue. If there is more than one person trying to bring a claim, each person 18 should file his or her own complaint. The Court will rule on the application to proceed in forma 19 pauperis after plaintiff files a new complaint. Plaintiff is encouraged to contact the Legal Help 20 Center. Plaintiff may make an appointment by calling (415) 782-8982 or by signing up in the 21 appointment book located on the table outside the door of the Legal Help Center at in the federal 22 building at 450 Golden Gate Avenue, 15th Floor, Room 2796, San Francisco, CA 94102. Picture 23 ID is required to enter the federal building. 24 25 26 27 28 IT IS SO ORDERED. Dated: July 18, 2017 ______________________________________ SUSAN ILLSTON United States District Judge
