Plaintiff, No. C 10-1484 CW (MEJ) NOTICE OF REFERENCE GEORGE ELWELL TRUCKING, INC., Defendant. _____________________________________/ 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 The above-captioned case was referred to Magistrate Judge Maria-Elena James to prepare a report and recommendation on Plaintiff's pending Motion for Default Judgment. Accordingly, the Court shall conduct a hearing on October 21, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Courtroom B, 15th Floor, 450 Golden Gate Avenue, San Francisco, California. Pursuant to Civil Local Rule 7, Defendant shall file any opposition to Plaintiff's motion by September 30, 2010, and Plaintiff shall file any reply by October 7, 2010. If Defendant does not file an opposition, Plaintiff shall file detailed proposed findings of fact and conclusions of law, which shall address the factors in Eitel v. McCool, 782 F.2d 1470, 1471-72 (9th Cir. 1986), as well as provide the basis for the Court's subject matter and personal jurisdiction, by October 7, 2010. Plaintiff shall ensure that a copy of the proposed findings is emailed to mejpo@cand.uscourts.gov. The Court prefers that proposed findings be emailed in WordPerfect format; however, Microsoft Word format is also acceptable. When filing papers that require the Court to take any action (e.g. motions, meet and confer letters, administrative requests), the parties shall, in addition to filing papers electronically, lodge with chambers a printed copy of the papers by noon of the next court day following the day the papers are filed electronically. These printed copies shall be marked "Chambers Copy" and shall be Dockets.Justia.com 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 UNITED UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT 12 For the Northern District of California submitted to the Clerk's Office, in an envelope clearly marked with "Magistrate Judge James," the case number and "E-Filing Chambers Copy."
