On March 8, 2012, Staci Pies and Jason Anderson of GroupMe, Inc./Skype
Communications S.A.R.L. (“GroupMe”), along with the undersigned, met with staff from
the Commission’s Office of General Counsel--Diane Griffin Holland, Deputy Associate
General Counsel and Raelynn Remy, and with staff from the Consumer and Government
Affairs Bureau--Kurt Schroeder, Acting Chief, Consumer Policy Division, Michael
Jacobs, Legal Advisor, Karen Johnson, Attorney Advisor, to discuss the Petition for
Expedited Declaratory Ruling and Clarification (“Petition”) filed by GroupMe on March
1, 2012, in the above-referenced proceeding.
The meeting participants provided staff with background information on the
functionalities that GroupMe enables, as detailed in the attached presentation that was
distributed, and discussed GroupMe’s Petition. The meeting participants reiterated to
those in attendance that further clarification is needed of discrete issues that are identified
in the Petition.
Pursuant to Section 1.1206 of the Commission’s rules, a copy of this notice has been
filed via ECFS and sent by email to each of the FCC staff members who participated in
