If the joint statement is filed prior 3 to the hearing date, the compliance hearing will be vacated. If the parties have not filed a joint 4 statement identifying the mediator, they shall file a joint statement explaining their failure to comply. 5 Telephonic appearances will be allowed if the parties have submitted a joint statement in a timely 6 fashion. Failure to do so may result in sanctions. 7 As to the May 2, 2014 compliance hearing date: Pursuant to the Court’s Pretrial Instructions 8 in Civil Cases at Section 2, trial counsel shall meet and confer at least twenty-one (21) days in 9 advance of the Pretrial Conference. The compliance hearing on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 9:01 a.m. is Instructions. The compliance hearing shall be held in the Federal Courthouse, 1301 Clay Street, 12 Northern District of California intended to confirm that counsel have timely met and conferred as required by the Pretrial 11 United States District Court 10 Oakland, California, in Courtroom 5. Five (5) business days prior to the date of the compliance 13 hearing, the parties shall file a one-page JOINT STATEMENT confirming they have complied with this 14 requirement or explaining their failure to comply. If compliance is complete, the parties need not 15 appear and the compliance hearing will be taken off calendar. Telephonic appearances will be 16 allowed if the parties have submitted a joint statement in a timely fashion. Failure to do so may 17 result in sanctions. 18 The parties must comply with both the Court’s Standing Order in Civil Cases and Standing 19 Order for Pretrial Instructions in Civil Cases for additional deadlines and procedures.
