1 2 3 UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT 4 NORTHERN DISTRICT OF CALIFORNIA 5 6 7 CITY OF ORLANDO POLICE PENSION FUND, Plaintiff, 8 9 v. ORDER RE TEMPORARY STAY LAWRENCE E. PAGE, et al., 11 For the Northern District of California United States District Court 10 No. C 13-2038 PJH Defendants. _______________________________/ 12 13 The court has approved the parties’ stipulation to temporarily stay this action for 60 14 days, while the parties engage in private mediation. The parties also indicate that they 15 “reserve the right to modify” the stipulation “depending on the progress of their 16 discussions.” While the court will be amenable to an extension of the stay if it will facilitate 17 resolution of the case, it notes that, in the related case of In re Google, the parties filed 18 repeated requests for extensions while there were motions still pending on the court’s 19 docket. See Case no. 11-4248, Dkts. 64, 68, 71. Thus, the court sets a final deadline of 20 August 1, 2014, by which time the parties must either (1) advise the court that a settlement 21 has been reached, or (2) terminate the motions pending on the court’s docket. If the 22 parties take no action by that date, the court will assume that the case is going forward and 23 will issue orders on any pending motions. 24 IT IS SO ORDERED. 25 Dated: March 12, 2014 26 27 28 ______________________________ PHYLLIS J. HAMILTON United States District Judge
