Plaintiff,

v.
ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE
9
10
NATIONSTAR MORTGAGE LLC,
Defendant.
12
Defendant Nationstar Mortgage LLC filed a motion to dismiss Plaintiff Bradfield
13
Thompson’s first amended complaint on October 12, 2017. [Docket No. 39.] Currently, the
14
motion is set for a court hearing on December 14, 2017. Plaintiff is pursuing this action without
15
legal representation. According to the local court rules, Plaintiff should have filed any brief in
16
opposition to Defendant’s motion by October 26, 2017. See Civ. L.R. 7-3(a). The court has
17
received no such opposition.
18
The court ORDERS Plaintiff to respond by November 22, 2017 and explain his
19
failure to respond to the motion. In addition, Plaintiff must simultaneously (1) submit his
20
opposition to the court or (2) file a statement of non-opposition to the motion. This order to show
21
cause does not indicate that the court will necessarily accept Plaintiff’s late submission. If
22
Plaintiff does not respond by November 22, 2017, Defendant’s motion may be granted or the case
23
may be dismissed for failure to prosecute.
