IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE DISTRICT OF DELA WARE LEADER TECHNOLOGIES, INC., a Delaware corporation, Plaintiff-Counterdefendant, Civil Action No. 08-862-LPS v. FACEBOOK, INC., a Delaware corporation, Defendant-Counterc laimant. VOIR DIRE This is an action for patent infringement. The parties in this case are Leader Technologies, Inc. and Facebook, Inc. In this case, Facebook is accused of infringing Leader's patent. 1. Counsel will now introduce themselves and their clients and list the names of their potential witnesses. After they do so, I will ask you whether you or any member of your immediate family know of or have any current or former relationship with any of the attorneys, their law firms, their clients, or the witnesses. l.a) Do you or any member of your immediate family know of or have any current or former relationship with any of the attorneys, their law firms, their clients, or the witnesses? 2. Do you have any opinions about either of these parties that would affect your ability to be a fair and impartial juror? 5. This trial is expected to last approximately 6 days. Does the length of the trial present any special problem for you? 6. Do you have a user account for the Facebook website? 7. Do you typically use Facebook at least once a day? 8. Jurors in this case will not be permitted to use or access the Facebook website during the length of this trial. Does that present any special problem for you? 9. Do you hold any opinions about Facebook, its policies or practices, or the Facebook website that might keep you from being a fair and impartial juror? 10. Do you own stock in or have any financial interest in either of the parties? 11. Have you or anyone in your immediate family ever participated in a lawsuit? 12. Do you have any reservations about serving on the jury in a case that will involve issues related to computer software and social networking? 13. Have you had any experience, either personal or through business, involving inventions and patents? 14. Have you or any of your immediate family members ever invented anything or applied for a patent? 15. Have you or any member of your family ever been employed by the United States Patent and Trademark Office? 16. Do you hold any opinions about patents or the United States Patent and Trademark Office that might keep you from being a fair and impartial juror?
