In the file Correos 386, correspondence and records of the Department of Coruņa, 1796 to 1802, we found different facts: Correspondence of the Principal Commander of Coruņa, Rafael Clavijo, with the General Directors of the Renta for the year of 1801, and during 1802 when wih the occasion of the union of Sea Mails to the Royal Navy went to the Department of Ferrol and was appointed Commander of the Sea Mails At the end of May 1802 the Mail Department of Coruņa should be incorporated into the Royal Navy, as well as those of Cadiz and Lugo, therefore the Navy will need a large sum of money to cover emergencies and other obligations. This balance is signed by Josef de la Quadra and was referred to the General Directorate General of Mail There are several letters to the Minister of Finance from the Sea Mails Captains whom during the summer came back to Spain with money from Lima and Montevideo and with the entry into force of the new Regulations they did not know how to act, Josef de la Quadra told them to do, by now, the things like before In early June in Buenos Aires the captains of the extinct department of the Sea Mails now were Officers of the Navy Also in this file there are news of the appointment by the Prince of Peace, authorized by the King, in the 4th November of 1801 of Domingo Grandallana, Lieutenant General, as Major of Staff of the Navy In the file Correos 387 A, correspondence and records of the Administration of Coruņa, 1798 to 1803, there is a record at the request of Jose Bustamante y Guerra, Governor of Montevideo, about the payment of the officers that drive the packetboats (1803); the Governor made some consultations on whether to abide by the rules of 1797 and paid to the Renta or if now because the warships for Sea Mail are of the Royal Navy has changed the system to pay. The letter is dated in Montevideo on 1st March of 1803, and the response of the Accounts is from July of the same year, it is clear that now the Sea Mails dependent of the new regulation and of the Navy, the document is signed by Pedro Cevallos In the file Correos 188 A, correspondence from the Administration of Montevideo from 1802 to 1806, we can find that from 1796 until 1803 the Principal Administrator of the Mail in Montevideo and Buenos Aires was Felix de la Rosa y Queypo de Llano, the second officer or controller was Manuel de Mazariegos, and the counter was Francisco Luaces. From October 31 of 1803 became as Principal Administrator Francisco Luaces. De la Rosa on December 24th of 1802 wrote a letter in which he informed to the Mail Directors that holds copies of the new rules of the Prince of Peace and that he already know that the Sea Mails are incorporated in the Royal Navy From December 30th of 1802 there is a letter in which the Governor of Montevideo, Josef Bustamante y Guerra, explains to the Mail Principal Administration that the service of deposit and custody of the money of particulars, which did before the Renta, now depends of the Royal Navy and

everybody must help them by the lack of practice, also the silver masters are now commanders of the ships of the Navy and they have not done this job before so they will need some help
