Thompson v. The Florida Bar Doc. 196 IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF FLORIDA JOHN B. THOMPSON, Plaintiff, v. THE FLORIDA BAR and DAVA J. TUNIS, Defendants. PLAINTIFF'S NOTICE TO COURT COMES NOW plaintiff, John B. Thompson, hereinafter Thompson, as an attorney on his own behalf, and hereby provides notice to the court as follows: As plaintiff prepares a filing with supplemental authority for the court as to whether defendant Tunis in fact enjoys full judicial immunity despite the fact that she is not acting as a judge, he received the following e-mail receipt from the president elect of The Florida Bar, John White, who apparently does not understand that his Bar's outside counsel, Greenberg Traurig, has represented to this court that Thompson has a "right" under Mason v. The Florida Bar to appear before the Board of Bar Governors to address the entire Board about the constitutional issues in his "disciplinary" matter before trial. Mr. White, apparently either mindless of or dismissive of this right of Thompson to petition the Board, has just informed Thompson, by the below e-mail receipt, that he has refused even to read about the contempt matter: Case No. 07-21256 (Judge Adalberto Jordan) 1 Dockets.Justia.com "----- Original Message ----From: "John G. White, III" <jwhite@richmangreer.com> To: "Jack Thompson" <amendmentone@comcast.net> Sent: Wednesday, October 10, 2007 5:24 PM Subject: Not read: Show Cause Your message to John G. White, III Subject: Show Cause Sent: Wed, 10 Oct 2007 14:43:18 -0400 was deleted without being read on Wed, 10 Oct 2007 17:24:13 -0400" Bar Governors, including Mr. White, have similarly refused to read other communications sent to them, including Thompson's repeated written requests to exercise his right under Mason, which Barry Richard of Greenberg Traurig asserts Thompson has and as a reason for this court to abstain from granting a federal remedy. Governors who will not even entertain a request to appear before them are lawyers who are divorced from the law, divorced from their duties, and apparently divorced from reality. I HEREBY CERTIFY that this has been served upon record counsel this 10th day of October, 2007, electronically. /s/ JOHN B. THOMPSON, Plaintiff Attorney, Florida Bar #231665 1172 South Dixie Hwy., Suite 111 Coral Gables, Florida 33146 Phone: 305-666-4366 amendmentone@comcast.net 2
