Thompson v. The Florida Bar Doc. 295 IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF FLORIDA JOHN B. THOMPSON, Plaintiff, v. THE FLORIDA BAR and DAVA J. TUNIS, JOHN HARKNESS, AND FRANK ANGONES, Defendants. PLAINTIFF'S VERIFIED MOTION FOR THE COURT TO TAKE JUDICIAL NOTICE OF ADDITIONAL EVIDENCE OF BAD FAITH BY THE BAR COMES NOW petitioner, John B. Thompson, (Thompson) an attorney on his own behalf, and moves this court to take judicial notice of the following, under oath taken by the plaintiff, stating http://www.floridabar.org/DIVCOM/JN/JNJournal01.nsf/8c9f13012b96736985256aa900 624829/35ad22143e0ece6585257380005a7801?OpenDocument "Our country's Thanksgivings have become increasingly inclusive [no, Frank, as the first Thanksgiving was an inclusion, by the Puritans, of American natives], comprising all that are part of this great nation. It is our obligation as lawyers to extend this inclusiveness to all, without regard for differences in ethnicity, race, sex, religion [when did that happen?], and any others. This Thanksgiving 2007, what can we as lawyers do to reciprocate, in gratitude, for the much that we have been given? There are ample opportunities to utilize our unique talents and legal skills for the benefit of the less fortunate, such as by serving [here comes the leftwing "poverty-based list] in the Guardian ad Litem program, by giving of our time to a local bar association pro bono project, joining the Justice Teaching initiative, assisting our local legal aid societies, mentoring a law Case No. 07-21256 (Judge Adalberto Jordan) 1 Dockets.Justia.com student, and countless other activities [but not pro bono efforts against predatory corporate practices]. In the spirit of Thanksgiving consider giving more than thanks this year and contribute your talents and time [unless you're a rightwing religious nut trying to protect unrepresented minors] within your communities to those who need legal assistance: For of those to much is given, much is required [does that include Bar Governors in their use of governmental power?]. God bless you [unless you're a conservative]." I hereby certify that the foregoing has been provided to opposing counsel through the court's obscenity-free electronic filing system, this October 31, 2007. /s/ JOHN B. THOMPSON, Plaintiff Attorney, Florida Bar #231665 1172 South Dixie Hwy., Suite 111 Coral Gables, Florida 33146 Phone: 305-666-4366 amendmentone@comcast.net 2
