Thompson v. The Florida Bar Doc. 334 IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF FLORIDA JOHN B. THOMPSON, Plaintiff, v. THE FLORIDA BAR and DAVA J. TUNIS, JOHN HARKNESS, AND FRANK ANGONES, Defendants. Case No. 07-21256 (Judge Adalberto Jordan) PLAINTIFF'S NOTICE OF SUPPLEMENTAL AUTHORITY COMES NOW petitioner, John B. Thompson, and provides notice to the court of additional authority that illuminates and also explains the chronic bad faith of The Bar in its twenty years of harassing him. The Bible used to be considered legal authority in this country and still is by a majority of Americans, even in South Florida: 1 Dockets.Justia.com From the Bible, Matthew 14:3-5: 3 Herod had arrested John. He had tied him up and put him in prison because of 4 Herodias. She was the wife of Herod's brother Philip. John had been saying to Herod, "It is against the Law for you to have her." [Herod had married Herodias, his brother's wife.] Matthew 14: 6-12: 6 On Herod's birthday the daughter of Herodias [Salome] danced for Herod and 7 his guests. She pleased Herod very much. So he promised with an oath to give her anything she asked for. 8 Her mother told her what to say. So the girl said to Herod, "Give me the head of John the Baptist on a platter." 9The king was grieved, yet out of regard for his oaths and for the guests, he commanded it to be given; beheaded in the prison. 11 10 he sent and had John The head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, who brought it to her mother. 12His disciples came and took the body and buried it; then they went and told Jesus. The undersigned plaintiff is no prophet, but he is a follower of Jesus Christ. As such, he actually reads the Bible while SLAPP Bar complainants seek court orders prohibiting him from quoting Scripture. Such extreme intolerance is the hallmark of others who cannot abide hearing inconvenient truths about the law and morality uttered in the public square. Some are folks that think it appropriate that men have sex with men in public toilets adjacent to kids' parks. They are thus the heirs of Queen Herodias, as they seek the destruction of those who dare utter the truth about public laws dealing with open and notorious and criminal behavior. 2 This court would do well to ponder what The Bar, through its animated bad faith, is trying to do and why. What The Bar is doing is nothing new. Government goes after whistleblowers all the time, which is why Florida has an Anti-Slapp Statute which The Florida Bar is violating. Frank Angones is The Bar's Herod, both missing a backbone, with the various SLAPP Bar complainants reprising the role of Herodias. The court didn't get the Paul Revere analogy. Maybe it will get this one, which goes directly to what The Bar is doing and why. I hereby certify that the foregoing has been provided to opposing counsel through the court's electronic filing system, this November 19, 2007. /s/ JOHN B. THOMPSON, Plaintiff Attorney, Florida Bar #231665 1172 South Dixie Hwy., Suite 111 Coral Gables, Florida 33146 Phone: 305-666-4366 amendmentone@comcast.net 3
