JOINT NOTICE OF COMPLIANCE WITH MEDIATION
Pursuant to the Amended Scheduling Order and Order Directing Discovery Matters to the
Magistrate Judge (D.E. 206), Apple Inc. ("Apple") and Motorola Mobility, Inc. and Motorola
Solutions, Inc. ("Motorola") (collectively the "parties") jointly submit this Notice of Compliance
with Mediation.
At 9:30 a.m. on July 14, 2011, the parties conducted a mediation before Anthony Piazza,
Esq., at the offices of Gregario, Haldeman, Piazza, Rotman & Frank, 201 Mission Street, Suite
1900, San Francisco, California 94105. Attendees for Apple were Chip Lutton, Chief Patent
Counsel; Noreen Krall, Chief Litigation Counsel; Boris Teksler, Director, Patent Licensing and
Strategy; and David Melaugh, Senior Corporate Counsel, Litigation. The attendees for Motorola

were Kirk Dailey, Corporate Vice President of Intellectual Property; Neill Taylor, Chief IP
Counsel; and Richard Sonnentag, Senior Licensing Counsel.
The parties conducted a follow-up mediation session at approximately 10:00 a.m. on
August 9, 2011, again before Mr. Piazza. The attendees for Apple were Chip Lutton; BJ
Watrous, Chief IP Counsel and Vice President for Intellectual Property and Licensing; and
Wendy Anna Herby, Litigation Counsel. The attendees for Motorola were Kirk Dailey and Neill
Taylor.
During these mediation sessions, the parties engaged in good faith settlement negotiations
regarding a global resolution of all outstanding disputes between the parties, including the
settlement of this case. Although no settlement has yet been achieved, discussions remain open
and the parties contemplate continuing their discussions.
