1 UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT 2 DISTRICT OF NEVADA 3 *** 4 Yausmenda Freeman, 5 6 7 Case No. 2:25-cv-00006-JAD-BNW Plaintiff, v. ORDER Clark County, Nevada, et al., 8 Defendants. 9 10 Before the court is pro se Plaintiff’s ex parte motion to reassign magistrate judge. ECF 11 No. 3. Having considered the motion, the undersigned is not persuaded that she must recuse from 12 this case. As Plaintiff points out, 28 U.S.C. § 455 requires judges to recuse in any proceeding in 13 which their impartiality might reasonably be questioned. Here, Plaintiff argues that recusal is 14 necessary because the undersigned is the magistrate judge in another one of Plaintiff’s cases. The 15 two cases involve different defendants, facts, and claims. See ECF No. 3 at 4. Plaintiff’s 16 argument, without more, does not explain why the undersigned’s impartiality might reasonably be 17 questioned in this case. 18 19 IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that Plaintiff’s ex parte motion to reassign magistrate judge (ECF No. 3) is DENIED without prejudice. 20 21 DATED this 7th day of January 2025. 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 BRENDA WEKSLER UNITED STATES MAGISTRATE JUDGE
