MEMORANDUM AND ORDER: Defendants' motion for judgment as a matter of law on Plaintiff's First Amendment retaliation claim pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 50(b) is DENIED in its entirety. Defendants' motion, in the alternati ve, for a new trial limited to damages or a remittitur of the punitive damages awards pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 59(a), however, is GRANTED. Because the punitive damages award is excessive, a new trial on damages will be ordered unle ss Plaintiff agrees no later than 20 days from the date of this Memorandum and Order, in writing, filed electronically with the Court and served on the Defendants, to accept a remittitur of the punitive damages award to $100,000 per Individual Defendant.
