BRIEF AMICUS CURIAE OF THE CENTER FOR DEMOCRACY & TECHNOLOGY IN SUPPORT OF APPROVAL OF THE SETTLEMENT AND PROTECTION OF READER PRIVACY The New Services enabled by the Proposed Settlement will be extraordinarily valuable, and will make available to the public a vast amount of knowledge and information that is largely inaccessible today. The Settlement should be approved. But the New Services create serious privacy concerns, and the Court must take affirmative action - as part of the settlement approval - to protect reader privacy.
