Dear Judge Jones:
On behalf of plaintiff, we write to let Your Honor know that Edie Windsor
is back at home and is recovering from her most recent heart attack.
We also enclose a copy of the latest filing in the related Golinski case. In
the enclosed Motion to Consolidate and Expedite Appeals dated March 26, 2012, the
United States Department of Justice asks the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth
J Circuit to hear the appeal of Judge White's decision of February 22, 2012 (which we
previously sent to Your Honor on February 23, 2012) on an expedited basis and en bane
given the importance and the urgency of the issues presented concerning the
constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act.
