FILE BRIEF OF PROFESSOR REBECCA L. SANDEFUR AS AMICA CURIAE
IN SUPPORT OF PLAINTIFFS’ MOTION FOR A PRELIMINARY INJUNCTION
I, Peter Karanjia, declare as follows:
1.
I am an attorney with DLA Piper LLP (US). I am admitted to practice before this
Court and am also admitted to the New York State Bar. I am Professor Rebecca L. Sandefur’s
counsel of record in the above-captioned action.
2.
On February 24, 2022, I emailed Matthew Lawson, Assistant Attorney General for
the State of New York, to inquire whether the Office of the Attorney General would consent to
Professor Sandefur filing an amicus brief in support of Plaintiffs in the above-captioned case.
3.
Mr. Lawson responded by email on February 25, 2022 and stated that the Office of
the Attorney General takes no position on Professor Sandefur’s request to file an amicus brief.
4.
On March 2, 2022, I emailed Robert Niles-Weed, counsel for Plaintiffs, to inquire
whether Plaintiffs would consent to Professor Sandefur filing an amicus brief in support of
Plaintiffs.

Mr. Niles-Weed responded the same day and indicated that Plaintiffs consent to
Professor Sandefur filing an amicus brief.
I declare under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States of America that the
foregoing is true and accurate to the best of my knowledge.
