Opening Brief Deadline 3-Day Extension Request
/o /1'5/JPef?.f
Dear Judge McMahon:
Appellant, the State of Maryland, respectfully requests a three-day extension of time that
would perm it it to file its opening brief on Monday, October 28 , 2024. This extension has become
necessary to adjust to several urgent professional demands that have arisen in the past week. We
also would like time to ed it our brief to take into account Appel lees ' filing , on Monday, October
21, 2024, of an additiona l request for the bankruptcy court to further extend the preliminary
injunction by 35 days thro ugh December 6, 2024. We have not been able to do so yet. Monday
is also the date on which objectors must respond to the new extension motion.
Debtors have consented to this relief, provided we also ask the Court to extend their
response deadl ine by three days to Monday, November 7, 2024 . Given that Appellant's reply
deadline would follow the next day, if it is not inconvenient for the Court, we would propose filing
it on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 10 :00 a.m. (the morning after Veteran ' s Day) and keeping
the hearing deadline this Court has set for Thursday, November 14, 2024.
The schedule would be as follows:
200 Saint Paul Place ♦ Baltimore, Maryland, 2 1202-2021
Office Number (4 I 0) 576-6366 ♦ Main Office Toll Free (888) 743 -0023
