They have settled the litigation in this matter. 2. The parties' settlement is neither a concession by the United States that the defendant currency is not subject forfeiture nor an admission of wrongdoing by the Claimants. to Rather, the parties' settlement is merely a compromise to avoid the delay, uncertainty, inconvenience, and expense of protracted litigation of the Government's claims relating to forfeiture of the defendant currency. 1 It is, therefore, 1. ORDERED that Cfaimant Earl Thomas Green shalf forfeit to the United States of America $2,100.00 of the Defendant $13,700.00 U. S. currency, to be disposed of by the United States Department of Justice according toJ-aw,' 2. Claimant Vernell Turner Mann shal-l- forfeit to the United States of America the Defendant $3,735.00 U. S. currency, to be disposed of by the United States Department of Justice accordj-ng to law. 3. Thomas ORDERED that the United States shall- return to the Claimant EarI Green $11,000.00 of the Defendant $13,700.00 U. currency seized, less any debt owed S. to the United States, any agency of the Unj-ted States, or any other debt in which the United States is authorized to col--Iect. Payment to be made payable to Claimant via efectronic funds transfer by the U.S. Marshal's Service according to the information provided by counsel for Claimant on the executed UEMS Vendor Request Eorm; ORDERED that each party shall bear its own attorneys' fees, costs and expenses in this Iitigation; 3 Opon the entry of this order, the Clerk of Court is DIRECTED to close this case.
