ORDER signed by JUDGE JAMES A. BEATY, JR on 6/24/2014; the Court grants Plaintiffs' Motion to Seal Exhibit 1 to Docket Entry #270 . (Sheets, Jamie)
IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT
FOR THE MIDDLE DISTRICT OF NORTH CAROLINA
CIVIL ACTION NUMBER 1:07CV953
RYAN McFADYEN, et al.,
Plaintiffs,
v.
ORDER
DUKE UNIVERSITY, et al.,
Defendants.
This case comes before the Court on Plaintiffs’ Uncontested Motion to Seal a Document
Filed by Duke University. (Docket Entry 270-1).
The Court finds that the above-referenced document has not been used or relied upon in
deciding any motion filed in this case. The Court concludes that no First Amendment right of
access attaches to this document.
The Court finds and concludes that the public has no interest in or need for access to the
above-referenced document. To the extent that any public interest in this document exists, such
interest is outweighed by competing interests that favor sealing the document, including privacy
concerns of Plaintiff Matthew Wilson.
The Court further finds and concludes that there are no less drastic alternatives available
to sealing this document.
For the foregoing reasons, the Court grants Plaintiffs’ Motion to Seal Exhibit 1 to Docket
Entry 270.
This, the 24th day of June, 2014.
