Jury panel seated in the courtroom. Parties announced ready. (See Sign-In Sheets) Court welcomed the Jury Panel members and thanked them for their service. Court gave the Jury Panel members a brief overview of the case and the schedule of the trial. Court asked Plaintiff to introduce self and counsel. Mr. Cawley introduced self, co-counsel and has no witnesses from the East Texas area. Court inquired if anyone knows these individuals. No response. Ms. Doan introduced self, co-counsel and Yahoo representatives. Court inquired if anyone knows these individuals. No response. Mr. Heartfield introduced self, co-counsel and Amazon & Softlayer representatives. Mr. Dacus introduced self, co-counsel and AOL & MySpace representatives Court inquired if anyone knows these individuals. No response. Mr. Cawley conducted voir dire examination on behalf of the Plaintiff, Bedrock. Ms. Doan conducted voir dire examination on behalf of Defendant Yahoo. Court addressed the Jury Panel. Court asked Jury Panel to be back at 12:20 pm. Court gave the Jury Panel some instructions to not discuss the case. Court asked Juror #17 (PG) to remain behind. Court inquired if anyone else like to visit with the Court in private. Juror #15 (AH) responded and Court asked that she remain. Juror #14 (JC) also remained in the courtroom. Remaining Jury Panel excused until 12:20 pm. Juror #17 (PG) approached bench. (Bench Conference held). Juror #15 (AH) approached bench. (Bench Conference held). Juror #14 (JC) approached bench. (Bench Conference held). 12:00 pm 12:30 pm Court in recess until 12:20 pm. Jury Selection Continued. Jury panel seated in the Courtroom. Court asked Clerk to read the names of the Jury members. Clerk read names and 8 jury members seated in the jury box. Court addressed the remaining panel and thanked them for their service. Remaining panel excused from the courtroom. Court asked Clerk to administer oath to the Jury. Jury sworn. Court addressed the Jury members and gave them some preliminary instructions. Jury Member #5 (SN) addressed the Court about knowing attorney. Court asked her to remain behind and excused the reset of the Jury until April 27, 2011. 12:45 pm Court asked Jury Member #5 to approach the bench. Bench conference held. Court excused Jury Member. Mr. Morisseau addressed the Court and would have liked to ask her some questions. Court asked parties to make a decision now as to challenging her. Mr. Morisseau does not have a challenge. Mr. Cawley has no challenge. Court addressed the parties on starting on April 27 and discussed providing the jury food and snacks during the trial. 12:50 pm There being nothing further, Court adjourned.
