MEMORANDUM OPINION
Pro se' PlaintiffNathanael Harsy has brought suit against Mid-American Apartment
Communities, Inc., Mid-American Apartments, LP (together, "Mid-America"), and Midway
Services, Inc. ("Midway") for violations of federal housing laws as well as various state tort
claims. Both Defendants have separately moved to dismiss the complaint under Rule 12(b)(6).
The matter has been fully briefed, and the Court found that oral argument was not necessary for
the resolution of the case. For the reasons that follow, the Court hereby GRANTS both motions
to dismiss. (Dkt. Nos. 20,22).
I. BACKGROUND
On August 22,2014, Plaintiff began a one-year lease with Post Apartment Homes, L.P.
("Post") at an apartment located at 1201 South Joyce Street, Arlington, Virginia 22202. The
apartment is called "Post Pentagon Row." Plaintiff alleges that Mid-America subsequently
became the successor in liability to Post, and Defendants do not contest this allegation. During
Mr. Harsy has notified the Court that he is now barred as an attorney in the state of Illinois. (Dkt. No. 19).
