The motion was submitted for hearing with oral 17 argument in order to give Defendant Maria Flores and her minor child, Y.A.F. 18 notice and an opportunity to be heard pursuant to the advance notice requirement 19 under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, 20 U.S.C. § 1232g(b)(2)(B), 20 regarding the release of a minor child’s educational records. ORDER GRANTING MOTION FOR PROTECTIVE ORDER ~ 1 1 The Court held a telephonic hearing on October 25, 2017 and on October 26, 2 2017. The Court heard from Ms. Flores through her own interpreter Gricelda 3 Ohrazda on October 26, 2017. Ms. Flores – through her interpreter – objected to 4 the release of her son Y.A.F.’s school information, stating she objected because 5 Y.A.F. is her son. The Court orally ruled that it would allow the release of the 6 information, as the information was critical to the action before the Court and the 7 statute at issue only requires notice be given for the release of information. The 8 Court has reviewed the record and files herein, and is fully informed. For good 9 cause shown the motion is GRANTED. 10 ACCORDINGLY, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED: 11 The parties’ Stipulated Motion for Protective Order (ECF No. 25) is 12 GRANTED.
