MCAVOY, CLERK 4 5 UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT 6 EASTERN DISTRICT OF WASHINGTON 7 8 TERRA GOLD FARMS, INC., Plaintiff, 9 No. 2:17-cv-00326-SAB v. 10 11 UNIGARD INSURANCE COMPANY, Defendant. 12 ORDER DENYING STIPULATED MOTION FOR PROTECTIVE ORDER 13 14 Before the Court is the parties’ Stipulated Protective Order Re: Confidential 15 Documents, ECF No. 12. The motion was heard without oral argument. 16 The parties ask the Court to sign a Protective Order that was drafted and 17 agreed to by the parties. It is this Court’s practice to not enter general Protective 18 Orders that simply set forth the parties’ agreement for handling “confidential” 19 materials. 20 The parties are free to contract between themselves regarding disclosure of 21 information produced in discovery, and pursue appropriate remedies in the event of 22 breach; however, the Court will not be party to such an agreement. If, in the future, 23 the parties wish to file specific items of discovery in the court record and protect 24 such items from public access, the Court will entertain an application for a 25 narrowly tailored protective order. 26 // 27 // 28 ORDER DENYING STIPULATED MOTION FOR PROTECTIVE ORDER + 1 1 Accordingly, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED: 2 1. The parties’ Stipulated Protective Order Re: Confidential Documents, 3 ECF No. 12, is DENIED. 4 IT IS SO ORDERED.
