C17-258 RSM Plaintiff, v. $17,360.00 IN U.S. CURRENCY, AND ANY ACCRUED INTEREST, ORDER FOR DEFAULT JUDGMENT OF FORFEITURE Defendant. 16 17 THIS MATTER came before the Court on the United States’ Request for Entry of 18 a Default Judgment of Forfeiture (“Request”). See Dkt. No. 8. Having reviewed the 19 Request, as well as the other pleadings and papers filed in this case, the Court FINDS a 20 Default Judgment of Forfeiture is appropriately entered because: 21  The United States properly served, by direct notice and publication, all 22 potential claimants to the above-captioned $17,360.00 and any accrued 23 interest (“the Defendant Currency”) (Declaration of AUSA Michelle Jensen 24 in Support of Request for Entry of Default, Dkt. No. 6-1); 25 26  No one has filed a claim to the Defendant Currency or otherwise appeared in this case; and, 27 28 Order for Default Judgment of Forfeiture - 1 U.S. v. $17,360.00, CV17-258-RSM UNITED STATES ATTORNEY 700 STEWART STREET, SUITE 5220 SEATTLE, WASHINGTON 98101 (206) 553-7970 1  On May 8, 2017, the Clerk of Court entered default against all potential 2 claimants to the Defendant Currency (Order of Default, Dkt. No. 7). 3 4 NOW, THEREFORE, THE COURT ORDERS the Clerk to enter a Judgment of 5 Forfeiture, as follows: 1. The Defendant Currency is fully and finally forfeited, in its entirety, to the 6 7 United States pursuant to 21 U.S.C. § 881(a)(6); hereafter, no right, title, or interest in the 8 Defendant Currency shall exist in any other party; and, 9 2. The United States Marshals Service, and/or its agents and representatives, 10 shall dispose of the Defendant Currency as permitted by governing law. 11 12 DATED this 12th day of May 2017. 13 14 A 15 RICARDO S.
