JOINT MOTION FOR APPROVAL OF ADDITIONAL PRESENTATION EQUIPMENT
DURING CLAIMS CONSTRUCTION HEARING

Plaintiffs, Apple Inc. and NeXT Software, Inc., (“Apple”), together with Defendants,
Motorola, Inc. and Motorola Mobility, Inc. (“Motorola”), seek the Court’s approval for the use
of an additional monitor in the courtroom during the claims construction hearing, scheduled for
Friday, July 22, 2011.
Apple and Motorola have agreed to share the cost and arrange for the setting up of a 60”
flat-screen monitor, which would be placed in front of the jury box. The monitor will be visible
to the bench and counsel during the hearing. The parties understand that the monitor will not
require significant modifications to the courtroom technology, as it can be plugged into the
existing cabling. A similar monitor was used in this courtroom for the injunction hearing in
Apple Inc. v. Motorola Mobility, Inc., 11-CV-178.
Accordingly, Apple and Motorola ask the Court to approve the use of the additional
monitor.
