1 to the Defendants' responses and thirty days to file its responses to the Defendants' cross2 motions for summary judgment. Pursuant to Local Rule 7.3, the United States and 3 Defendants stipulate and move this Court 1) to allow the United States to address 4 Defendants' respective responses and cross-motions in single responsive filings, and 2) to 5 extend the deadline for the United States' responses to Defendants' filings to 6 February 4, 2011. 7 The United States requests this extension because the Defendants have filed two 8 cross-claims; accordingly, the United States has received a substantial amount of new 9 material requiring evaluation and response. Further, the parties request consolidation of 10 the United States' responses because the arguments raised by the Defendants in their 11 respective responses and cross-motions involve interconnected questions of law and fact 12 and are therefore best addressed in single responsive filings. 13 The parties seek an extension of the deadline to February 4, 2011, in recognition 14 of the significant amount of briefing involved in responding to Defendants' responses and 15 cross-motions and because the parties are still working toward an amicable resolution of 16 this matter that may obviate the need for a response. 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 2 A proposed Order is attached.
