COMMISSIONER OF SOCIAL SECURITY, ORDER GRANTING APPLICATION TO PROCEED IN FORMA PAUPERIS AND DIRECTING CLERK OF COURT TO ISSUE SUMMONS (ECF No. 3) Defendant. 15 16 17 18 Plaintiff Dedra Johhnson (“Plaintiff”) filed a complaint on August 25, 2017, along with 19 an application to proceed in forma pauperis pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1915. (ECF Nos. 1, 2.) 20 Plaintiff’s application does not contain a signature. Unsigned filings cannot be considered by the 21 Court, and therefore, Plaintiff’s application to proceed in forma pauperis (ECF No. 2) shall be 22 stricken from the record. See Fed. R. Civ. P. 11(a); Local Rule 131. 23 Subsequently on August 25, 2017, Plaintiff filed an amended application to proceed in 24 forma pauperis. (ECF No. 3.) Plaintiff’s application demonstrates entitlement to proceed 25 without prepayment of fees. 26 Accordingly, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that: 27 1. 28 Plaintiff’s application to proceed in forma pauperis (ECF No. 2) is STRICKEN FROM THE RECORD; 1 2. 1 Plaintiff’s amended application to proceed in forma pauperis (ECF No. 3) is GRANTED; 2 3 3. The Clerk of Court is DIRECTED to issue a summons; and 4 4.
